I chased the other day with Dann Cianca and we decided to target Hwy 79 that goes out to last chance and ended up north of Limon, Colo. on a nice high based storm that produced 1.00" size hail and amazing structure.
Honor the Fallen played Broomstock a local event that highlights bands from the Broomfield area. I have to say they drew the biggest crowd and rocked the hardest.
Chased with Dann Cianca today and scored big for such a small setup. We got on the tornado warned storm that moved through the northern metro area then dissipated. We missed the big tornado that formed near Littleton but still a successful chase.
I chased Eastern Colorado the other day and scored some amazing lightning, mesocyclone, and a dying landspout tornado. I didn't even have to make it to Limon, CO. I stayed west of Limon as storms formed and died on the boundaries.
I storm chased today with my buddy Christian Johansen, a metro student and up in coming meteorologist. My initial target was Kimball, NE but decided to head north from Pine Bluffs, WY. We got on some of the first storms to move into the 'beter' air in NE but only saw some small hail and nice structure. We got on some of the best storms and I felt it was a successful day.
My dad and I chased eastern Kansas the other day and we were out for tornadoes but managed to get outflow storms that produced small hail and high winds.
